Portrait and Folk Art Paintings

I will be, mostly, painting paintings expressing the Love of God, kitchen paintings, paintings of moms, angels, saints, ladies, little girls, how special a home is, pets, outdoor nature and other scenes we females may be interested in. It is possible the male gender might pop up sometime.

"Home, on Holy Ground"

This is a 12” x 18” Angel Folk Art ROUGH DRAFT painting in acrylic on a wood cutting board.
I lost this painting in trying to change her wings and outfit. I plan to recreate her with smaller wings.

About Me

My photo
Mary
Hi, my name is Mary J Russell and I live in Oklahoma. I was a stay-at-home mom and now my children are grown. For much of my life, I will be painting my Mom, Flora Mae, or Mothers and their precious expressions of the love they have imprinted in our hearts. It will be expressing happy memories and details of who they are and who they were. Seeing them happy doing something they love, with the simple little gold nuggets that, we know, Jesus gave them to helped them through the hard times. My art, I hope to be, an encouraging little window that will remind me of what makes me the happiest...seeing someone I love so dearly...seeing them happy! My favorite scenes in a painting will be painting moms or ladies outdoors (or in the kitchen) doing something they love to do, or are known for. Mothers with their children, grandchildren, their hobby or work...cooking, sewing, shopping, gardening, having coffee with a friend or family member, laughing, dancing in the kitchen while they are cooking.
